OUR VISION
Hurstbourne Baptist Church continues to pursue its God-given mission to glorify God. The theme verse for the campaign helps us to see the task from God’s perspective. From the earliest of days, God has said that He will bless His people so that they can bless others. Here are the implications of that important biblical truth:
- we have been blessed. There is no question that God has richly blessed Hurstbourne Baptist Church both as a church family and as individual families. As much as God blesses us, it is never just for us. He blesses for a greater purpose.
- we have a mandate to bless others. The theme verse for the campaign from Genesis 12:2 is actually the Great Commission in Old Testament form. There is no greater blessing a person can know than to experience life-change through a relationship with Jesus Christ. He commanded the Church, “Go and make disciples of all peoples.”
- we can be a blessing. You and I not only can bless others, we can embody that blessing. Others can know joy, love, and abundance of life in Jesus Christ because of what we are and do.
OUR CHALLENGE
The
"Be the Blessing" Capital Campaign was designed to enable us to fulfill our
vision of being a blessing to others by reducing debt, expanding ministries,
and improving our facility. Our goal was to raise $1.9 million over a three-year period,
with the funds to be used in the following ways:
- eliminate church debt: $1,310,000 - assume a portion of the current debt payment so that budget resources can be used to expand ministry and staff: $180,000 - construction of a new Welcome Center on the Nottingham Parkway side of the building: $200,000 - refurbish the Sanctuary particularly in the areas of sound and lighting technology, carpet, and paint: $150,000 - Campaign expense: $60,000
What a blessing we will experience when these goals are reached; more importantly, what a blessing our church will be to our community and the world as we share the gospel and grow the Kingdom, debt-free, with new ministries, a more welcoming facility, and worship space that is bright and new both in sound and light.

Ask God to help you see your part in the campaign. Volunteer to serve in the many opportunities that will be available. Give sacrificially. Successful campaigns have this truth at the forefront: not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.
