We offer a developmental preschool for ages 2, 3, and 4.

Our 2’s meet 2 days – Tuesday and Thursday.

Our 3’s and 4’s meet 4 days - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Our hours are 9:00 a.m.-12 noon.

The cost for our 2’s is $1200 yearly.

The cost for our 3’s and 4’s is $1840 yearly.

Our program activities include: Art, Painting, Blocks, Books, Puzzles, Games, Manipulatives, Dramatic Play, Home living, Science, Nature, Music, Movement, Playground/Gym Play, Field Trips (3’s and 4’s), Making Friends and developing Social Skills

INFORMATION for 2009-2010

Teachers: Teachers will be hired on the basis of their educational background and/or experience. Their personal learning philosophy must meet with the Day School's philosophy.

Hours: 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, September – mid May

Tuition:
Two Day 2's* - $1,200 (Tuesday $ Thursday)
Four Day 3's* - $ 4's - $1,840 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)

A $50 non-refundable fee must accompany registration form (Hurstbourne Baptist Church members pay $25). There will be a $50 supplies fee for the 2’s class and a $100 supplies fee for the 3’s and 4’s classes. HBC members pay half of this fee.

Schedule:
9:00 - 9:10 - Car Pool
9:10 - 10:30 - Free Choice (Centers) for 2's & 3's
9:10 - 10:30 - 4's Circle Time, then Centers
10:30 - 10:50 - Monday or Tuesday (Music)
10:30 - 10:50 - Thursday or Friday (Movement)
10:50 - 11:15 - Clean-up/Snack
11:15 - 11:45 - Playground & Large Motor
11:45 - 12:00 - Circle Time

While the exact times may change, the basic schedule listed above will remain unchanged. Free Choice (Centers) makes up the largest part of our morning. During this time, children may choose from a multitude of activities: painting, water and sand play, writing (drawing), cutting with scissors, reading books, working puzzles, building with blocks, playing dress-ups, creating with play-doh and many other activities that relate to your child's interest. At the end of Free Choice time we will clean up our activities and ready ourselves for snack. Each day we will go to the playground; when the weather does not cooperate we will use our large muscles in the gymnasium of the church. Circle time is for sharing as a group. We sing songs, do finger plays, listen to stories and reflect on our day. Our 3's and 4's will have the opportunity to go on field trips.

Hurstbourne Baptist Day School registration is on a first come, first served basis. Our registration is open to all 2's, 3's & 4's regardless of race, sex, or religion. For more information, contact the church office at 426-2444.

A successful pre-school program strives to meet the mental, physical, emotional, and social needs of the young child. To ensure the Day School's success, the following aims are listed:

Students at the Day School will be active participants in their learning. Their play will truly be their work.
