Dr. Mike O'Neal Pastor
A word from Mike: Dr. Mike O'Neal began his ministry as pastor of Hurstbourne on March 13, 2005. A Louisville native, he has pastored in Texas and Tennessee as well as Kentucky. Pastor Mike writes: "It is a joy to be a part of this great church. My blessing is only increased with the privilege of serving as the pastoral leader of a wonderful congregation. God has wonderful plans for us. His desire is that we reach people for His kingdom. Join me in praying for His Spirit to move in our hearts to empower and inspire."
Pastor Mike has been married since 1988 and has three children. His hobbies are reading, music, and spending time with his family. Pastor Mike serves as adjunct professor at Boyce College and at Southern Seminary. In 2006 his first book, Interpreting Habakkuk as Scritpure, was published by Peter Lang Publishers.
Pastor Mike believes that "church is a loving community, making disciples for God's Kingdom." At Hurstbourne, we are reaching East Louisville with a life-changing love.

Jeff Smith Minister of Education
A word from Jeff: "The purpose of Christian education is to help people take their next step with Jesus Christ. We want to embrace people where they are, encourage them to follow Jesus, and enable them to minister to others. The heart of our Christian education ministry is Sunday School, which has open Bible study groups for all ages.
I invite you to get connected to a Sunday School class, and then consider the other educational experiences that we offer. I believe you will find friends to help you down your road."

Rev. Chris Kihn Minister of Worship and Music
A word from Chris: "Worship plays a vital role in the life of a believer, whether it be private or public. The Bible says we should “. . .not give up meeting together . . . but let us encourage one another.” How great and exciting it is to come together in praise of the one true living God. The worship/music ministry at Hurstbourne offers you a variety of opportunities to take a more active role in worship such as choirs for all ages, instrumental, handbells, ensembles, solo, drama, media/sound. Sing to the Lord a new song!"

Tina Cundiff Minister of Children/Pre-schoolers & The Day School
A word from Tina: "I consider it a great privilege to do what I love in a church in my hometown! I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord through ministering to children and their families here at Hurstbourne Baptist Church. I am honored to work with a wonderful team of people who truly believe that "children are a gift from God." (Psalm 127:3b) Our Preschool and Children's leaders recognize each childs' gifts and needs and desire to "train them in the way they should go." (Proverbs 22:6a)
Our prayer is for each child to come to know the joy of a personal relationship with Christ and to learn that God has a plan for their lives."

Trent Chambers Minister to Students
A word from Trent: My youth minister once told me that "students are the best evangelists that the church has." he went on to explain, "students will say and do just about anything." Any parent with a teenager knows that this is true, whether what they do or say is positive or negative. Every student is searching for His or Her identity. Wherever they find that identity, they will invest 110% of who they are. My passion is to expose students to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to develop them as disciples as they grow in their knowledge of God's character and understanding of God's Word. A student consumed with who God is and who they are in relationship to Him, will change not only the community around them but the church as well.
